Summer is slowly but surely coming to an end, and we’re starting to prepare ourselves and our wardrobe for autumn. Autumn jackets are a must have for this time of year. They’re perfect for this weather as you can take them off and on as the weather changes throughout the day (Melbourne, I’m talking to you!). Check out my favourite 5 autumn jackets styles!

Our Top 5 Autumn Jackets for 2018

My favourite autumn jackets styles

Autumn jackets: military style jacket

Military style jacket is definitely in my top 3. It’s such a versatile item, you can truly pair it with everything. Especially in dark military green, it’s the perfect colour for the autumn season. You could pair it with black skinny jeans and a grey top, or if you’re in a bit more warm region, try a playsuit and some heels.

Autumn jackets: distressed denim jacket

Another absolute favourite, the distressed denim jacket. A classic with a modern twist, it’s a great option for those cold-turning-warm kind of days. What would you think of a maxi grey skirt and a white top underneath? Or, another option is denim on denim with the distressed denim jacket and some mom jeans with an off-the-shoulder striped top. I know I would go for both.

Autumn jackets: vintage leather jacket

I mean, if there’s one type of autumn jackets you must own, it would definitely be the vintage leather jacket. It’s perfect for during the day, giving your look that extra edge, but it is of course also your best mate for going out. Try the day-turning-evening look: a vintage leather jacket, dark grey skinny jeans and a bordeaux red blouse.

Autumn jackets: trench coat

Another great option for you is the trench coat. Sophisticated and stylish, in the popular brown or in a surprising black. However, if you’re on the small side (welcome to the club, girl!) it is one I would advice to pass. If you have the length for it, A pair of flared jeans would go great with brown (or black) flats.

Autumn jackets: boucle coat

If you’re more old school, a boucle coat could be the one for you. A grey one, a la Coco Chanel is my recommendation. But if you’re looking for a bit more colour in your jacket, a great choice could be baby blue or baby pink. And if you are, like me, a black hoarder, there are some beautiful choices as well. Combine your colour of choice with black smart pants, a short-sleeved bright shirt and you’ve got yourself a look.

These are my favourite autumn jackets styles for 2019. It’s hard to choose your perfect one, but if I had to choose right here, right now, I’d definitely go for a military style jacket! I think I’ve got already about three of those, but as I love to say, there is always room for more…
