The 2019 ski season is almost here, and if you’re lucky enough to be able to head out to a ski resort for a little while, you’ll need to know how to ski in style! You might think there’s no possibility of ever looking fashionable in thermal clothes, but oh oh you are wrong. Dressing in style is possible anytime, anywhere, even on the slopes! Let’s have a look at the 2019 skiwear trends, shall we?
While you’re out and about skiing, there are three things we keep in mind for your ski slope fashion: it has to be comfortable, warm & practical. No one wants a bunch of unnecessary accessories while you’re trying to make your way down the mountain.
Not sure how to ski and look fashionable at the same time? We’ve got your skiwear sorted!
Neon like it’s the ‘80s
There’s a beautiful, white backdrop there for you to play with, so don’t hesitate on experimenting with colours you might not be willing to wear in your everyday looks. Neon is one that for me personally, you would truly never see me wear it - ever. But on the slopes, the white-neon contrast would look amazing.
If you’re a bit unsure about the bright colours, try an accessory instead. Think of a neon pink or green scarf!
Take your urban with you
Bold prints, boxy shapes - do I need to go on? Bring your street style on the slopes with you by wearing crazy prints you’ll usually see on the runway. Give skisuits a go - they’re comfortable and easy to wear underneath your ski gear.

Classic - never out of style
Want to know how to ski in style but not sure about investing money in a trendy jacket or snowsuit? There are a couple of styles that are classic and will never look ridiculous! Think of a white or black sweater, a white pair of skiing pants and a navy blue skiing jacket. Grey’s a great choice as well - and try stripes for a little twist on the traditional design.
Let’s admit it - apres ski is usually the best part of a skiing trip. Step off your skis or snowboard and head for a clothing change. If you don’t have any time to do so, or because your cabin is simply too far of a trip, then the best idea is to wear breathable layers underneath your skiing gear. Think of a long sleeved t-shirt and a fleece jacket - they’re easy to peel off when you slowly regain warmth after having been out all day.
While you’re sorting your skiing wardrobe out, don’t make the basic mistake and forget a good pair of shoes and some much needed accessories. A pair of snow boots is an absolute must and today’s designs have evolved to a more fashion-forward sense. And what about your helmet hair? No one wants that - easy to fix with a cool beanie!
I hope these trends made sense and you now know how to ski in style. I can’t wait to see your awesome skiwear so remember to tag us on Instagram @fashiola_ so I won’t miss out on your fabulous skiing looks!
