When looking for interesting people to introduce you to, it's not about how big their following is on social media. Rather, that's the last thing I look at. For me, the most important thing is that they're authentically themselves on social media (we all know how many 'fake' people there are). As long as I can relate to their story in one way or another, they go onto my must-interview list! Today's influencer is no other..
Meet Ruchi: An economist by day and a fashion and travel blogger by night. She started her blog a couple years ago and was encouraged by a work colleague, who also bestowed her with her name - The Flying Fashionista. There's no better name to describe her, as what she loves doing when she's not in her day job, is travelling.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is effortless, chic, and sometimes street. I look out for trends but don't really follow them as I believe fashion is an individual's expression of themselves in clothes and accessories. Trends come and go but I stick to my style incorporate what I feel suits me, my personality and of course whatever is easy and effortless.
5 Fashion items you cannot do without?
I'm a shoes and bag lover and I have plenty of that I love but right now you'll find these items on rotation:
What or who inspires you?
I love to travel, see new things, meet new people and learn about new cultures. That has always been my inspiration. Fashion I see on the streets, in the shop windows and culturally around me, inspires my style and taste. Although, as I grew older I have to say my Mum has become my biggest fashion inspiration - she is minimal, so effortless, but always pulls up elegant and pretty.
A fashion rule you would never break?
I'm always breaking rules, you won't be a trend setter if you always followed them!
